AOSIS Call for New Journal Proposals to Qualify for Seed Funding
As Southern Africa’s leading open access publisher, AOSIS unlocks knowledge to the world through the publishing of online research articles in a wide variety of scientific scholarly journals. All our journals adhere to international standards, quality peer reviews, and publication ethics. Our indexing services also serve to boost every one of our journals’ global reach.
Since publishing our first open access journal (Koedoe – African Protected Area Conservation and Science) in 2005, the AOSIS journal collection has continued to grow and currently includes 47 journals across five scientific scholarly domains (Humanities and Social Sciences; Health and Veterinary Sciences; Economic and Management Sciences; Science, Engineering and Technology; and Theology and Religious Studies).
Every year we look at deserving projects to create new journals in underutilised or emerging fields of science. In order to better serve our academic community, we are inviting you to submit a proposal for a new academic journal to be published by AOSIS.
As a reward, AOSIS will provide the winning proposal with the seed money for the creation of such a journal. The proposer will also qualify to serve on the Editorial Board of the journal.
AOSIS will select a maximum of three winning proposals and provide them with seed funding for the creation of the journal.
Proposals for new journals should include the following items:
- Proposed Title of the Journal.
- Discipline(s).
- Why do you think there is a need for this journal?
- Which existing journals in the field would you consider to be the (proposed) journal’s biggest competition?
- Name and Surname of the proposer.
- Email and Telephone numbers where we can contact you.
Submission deadline: 28 February 2023
We would like to encourage all our subscribers and followers to send us their journal proposals by completing and submitting an online document. Click here
We look forward to your proposals and partnering with you in unlocking even more knowledge to the world.
