As leaders in our field, AOSIS specialises in publishing open access scholarly books across all scientific fields and distributing them online and in print format. We have published 138 scholarly books, adhering to international standards, quality peer review, and publication ethics. We expanded our book publishing services to reach a wider audience with our AOSIS Scholarly Book imprints: AOSIS Books, Avarsity, Ituta, and Krotoa.
This premium imprint publishes outstanding scholarly books written by and for scholars and peer community members. Each book undergoes rigorous peer review by independent experts and aligns with South Africa’s Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) Research Outputs Policy of 2015 to the maximum extent.
Focused on high-value, research-driven emerging scholarly books, AVARSITY Books caters to scholars and the research community. Our publications follow international scientific community protocols and are rigorously
peer-reviewed. These books meet the minimum criteria of South Africa’s DHET Research Outputs Policy of 2015.
ITUTA Books publishes research-based materials, such as textbooks, lecture series, and manuals/handbooks, crafted by scholars, practitioners or field experts. Our target audience includes professionals, practitioners, students, and academics seeking focused and informative content.
Geared towards a general public audience, KROTOA Books provides research-based publications authored by scholars, practitioners or field experts. With a focus on non-fiction titles and literary works, and, this imprint aims to appeal to a wide range of readers.
We are committed to providing our authors with all the resources, support and advice they need. Our authors retain the copyright of their work, so they can use their work for teaching purposes and to upload a copy on their institution’s research output archive.
