Transformation in Higher Education in collaboration with SAERA (South African Education Research Association)
AOSIS is proud to announce the recent collaboration between Transformation in Higher Education, the North-West University (NWU), and the South African Education Research Association (SAERA).
This collaboration is intended to enhance and disseminate scientific progress and knowledge in the domain of higher education research internationally, through publication in the journal.
Transformation in Higher Education is a scholarly journal that originated at the NWU in 2015 and is published by AOSIS. Its focus and scope are to encourage scholarly exchange between higher education researchers internationally, whilst providing a contextual and holistic views on higher education as practised across the globe. THE is an international, transdisciplinary journal that publishes original contributions that reflect upon and theorise transformation in higher education in all its different nuances. Its aim is to disseminate high impact, evidence-based research across disciplines in higher education that could ultimately support high level training, teaching, and research.
The South African Education Research Association (SAERA) is a professional association open to all scholars of education which aims to professionalise, cohere and advance education research and academic work in South Africa. It is a not-for-profit organisation with the following aims:
- Promote research and academic collaboration, link research policy, theory, and practice, encourage the promotion of research quality, and help develop the next generation of researchers.
- Establish a cohesive, coherent, and inclusive education academy and research identity. The aim is to establish vigorous and responsive epistemic communities and provide us with a vehicle to continue vigorous intellectual and research collaboration.
- Promote interaction with national and provincial education departments, research organisations such as policy units and the National Research Foundation.
- Establish links with international education research organisations and similar organisations in Southern Africa and the African continent.
We look forward to this newly established venture in promoting research in the higher education sector.
