The Southern African Journal of HIV Medicine (SAJHIVMED) invites you to submit
Editor-in-Chief: Professor Gary Maartens
The Southern African Journal of HIV Medicine (SAJHIVMED), under the leadership of Editor-in-Chief Professor Gary Maartens, invites you to submit a manuscript for publication. Authors from all countries, not just southern Africa, are encouraged to submit.
Being DHET and PubMed Central® accredited the SAJHIVMED focuses on HIV management and prevention, and other related topics relevant to clinical and public health practice. The purpose of the journal is to disseminate research and to support high-level learning related to HIV medicine. The journal publishes original research articles, editorials, case reports/case series, and reviews of state-of-the-art clinical practice.
Manuscripts are published on an ongoing basis and are open access. Papers are double-blind peer-reviewed, and it takes approximately 30 days following submission for the first decision to be communicated with authors.
Benefits of open access to authors and readers:
- Copyright retention: Authors retain the copyright to their work, ensuring recognition of their contributions and allowing them the freedom to share their published research widely.
- Preprint sharing: Authors can share preprints, increasing the reach of their research and transparently demonstrating the evolution of their work.
- Increased visibility and impact: Open-access articles typically receive more readership and citations, boosting research impact globally.
- Rolling or continuous online publication: The process, from submission and peer review to production and finalisation, is streamlined, and accepted articles are published as soon as they are ready for publication, meaning that authors no longer have to wait for a full issue to be compiled before they get to see their work published
