Invitation from Health SA Gesondheid to contribute to the Special Edition: 2021
*Submissions deadline extended to 30 April 2021.
We want to invite you to contribute an article to a Special Edition.
We have identified three themes for the Special Issue of 2021. A brief synopsis is provided for each theme to set the parameters of interest and inclusion.
- MENTAL HEALTH AND COVID-19:
Living with COVID-19 brought significant changes to everyone during the pandemic. Mourning for the loss of a loved one, the loss of work, multiple changes in living and working, and then ultimately how we live now. Articles that discuss the impact of COVID-19 on life and living are of value for the above theme. - RACISM IN HEALTH CARE: PATIENTS AND PROVIDERS:
We recognize the multiple ways of manifestation of racism in providing health care for the providers and the persons receiving health care. Articles addressing experiences of racism, the influence of structural racism, ways of addressing actions in solving and modeling of tolerance, acceptance, and enhancement of all-inclusive care is part of the theme. - GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE:
During COVID-19, the manifestation of Gender-Based Violence was addressed and received heightened attention to combat and ultimately eliminate Gender-Based Violence. The National Strategic Plan on Gender-Based Violence & Femicide Human Dignity and Healing, Safety, Freedom & Equality in our lifetime state the National Vision: A South Africa free from gender-based violence directed at women, children, and LGBTQIA+ persons. Articles are invited addressing issues surrounding gender-based violence, strategies to enhance the safety of the abovementioned persons, and always ensure the quality of care.
In view of the above, I am proposing that HSAG invites all Head of Department of Nursing, Medicine, and Affiliated Health Professions at all Universities of South Africa to contribute an article to the publication for 2021. The articles will need to be aligned with the above context and follow the normal peer-review process and publication fees.
All submissions will undergo anonymous review to guarantee high scientific quality and relevance to the subject.
The collections will be published by means of rolling publication in 2021, which means that we will need your article by 30 April 2021.
