World Malaria Day 2023: Time to deliver zero Malaria
World Malaria Day is an annual event observed on April 25th to raise awareness about Malaria and the efforts made to control and prevent the disease. This year’s theme is “Time to deliver zero malaria: invest, innovate, implement,” highlighting the urgent need for countries to accelerate their efforts to achieve a world free of malaria.
Despite progress in treatment and diagnosis of Malaria in recent years, Africa is the most affected area (CDC – Malaria – Malaria Worldwide – Impact of Malaria). The COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated the problem, disrupting malaria prevention and treatment programs and increasing the risk of infection.
To achieve the goal of zero malaria, it is crucial to invest in innovative and effective malaria treatment strategies. Healthcare professionals play a critical role in this effort, and it is essential for them to keep up to date with the latest developments in Malaria prevention and treatment.
That’s why we have designed four Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses to help healthcare professionals enhance their knowledge and skills in malaria treatment. These courses cover various topics, including the latest advancements in malaria diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
The courses are:
- The Impact of COVID-19 on Malaria Prevention in Africa
- Challenges and proposed solutions to the implementation of a Malaria candidate Vaccine Program in sub-Saharan Africa
- Effect of house eave screening in the reduction of malaria prevalence
- The conclusions and recommendations of the Malaria Policy Advisory Committee (MPAC) of their 2012 meeting as reported to the World Health Organisation (WHO)
By taking these CPD courses, healthcare professionals can stay up-to-date with the latest developments in malaria treatment and contribute to the global efforts to eradicate malaria. Let’s all work together to deliver zero malaria and make malaria a thing of the past.
