Introducing the Journal of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa
AOSIS is proud the introduce the Journal of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (JCMSA), the latest journal to join our growing collection of open access scholarly publications.
In a recent interview with Editor-in-Chief of JCMSA Professor Soraya Seedat, she shares with us a bit about her background, how she became involved in her field of study, and an overview of the goals she has for the journal. She also gives us an overview of the journal’s objectives and the kinds of contributions that will be published.
According to the recent Research.com ranking, Prof Seedat achieved an impressive 7th position among the top researchers in the field of Medicine in South Africa. This ranking, based on a scholar’s D-index (Discipline H-index), takes into account publications and citation metrics for the specific discipline. The data used for this evaluation were acquired from multiple reliable sources, including OpenAlex and Crossref.
JCMSA is the first official scientific journal of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. As the national examining body for medical and dental professions in South Africa, the CMSA is unique in that it embraces 29 constituent Colleges representing all disciplines of medicine and dentistry.
The JCMSA Article Processing Charges Waiver Fund is made possible through the generous support of Adcock Ingram. Their contribution enables us to provide financial assistance to authors who face barriers in paying for APCs, thereby ensuring that their research is published and shared with the wider academic community.
If you think your research fits into the focus and scope of this journal, then please visit the journal website at www.jcmsa.org.za and submit your manuscript for consideration.
