AOSIS continues to expand its open-access journal offerings, catering to the growing demands for open-access scholarly research across various fields. In our AOSIS open-access journals in the Science, Engineering and Technology scholarly domain, we have been expanding by the launch of the below open-access journal offerings.
Article Processing Charges
Some of our recently launched journals have a sponsorship agreement for the purpose of funding the article processing charges (APCs) of qualifying manuscripts. Please consult each journal’s website for more information.
Benefits of open access
Open access in all fields offers notable benefits to both authors and readers, and AOSIS is excited to share these advantages:
- Copyright retention: Authors retain the copyright to their work, ensuring recognition of their contributions and allowing them the freedom to share their published research widely.
- Preprint sharing: Authors can share preprints, increasing the reach of their research and transparently demonstrating the evolution of their work.
- Increased visibility and impact: Open-access articles typically receive more readership and citations, boosting research impact globally.
- Rolling or continuous online publication: The process, from submission and peer review to production and finalisation, is streamlined, and accepted articles are published as soon as they are ready for publication, meaning that authors no longer have to wait for a full issue to be compiled before they get to see their work published.
Explore the forefront of scholarly communication with our recently launched open-access journals covering fields within the Science, Engineering and Technology, and consider the impactful possibilities for your research.
African Journal of Climate Studies
No APCs on qualifying works in 2024. Ts & Cs apply.
Editors-in-Chiefs: Guy Midgley and Graham P. von Maltitz
The journal will focus on theoretically or pragmatically relevant original academic studies, reviews and syntheses, or academic opinions that include African climate as a pivotal component, attempting to advance transdisciplinary work incorporating African climate as an important component. Submit your research to the journal.
Journal of Underutilised Crops Research (JUCR)
No APCs on qualifying works in 2024. Ts & Cs apply.
Editor-in-Chief: Ethel E Phiri
JUCR is an international multi- and transdisciplinary journal that aims to publish original research on various aspects relating to underutilised and neglected crops. Underutilised and neglected crops can be indigenous or exotic, and many rural communities in developing countries rely heavily on these crops. Therefore, there is a need to shift focus to these crops as they are also said to be more resilient to extreme environmental events. Some underutilised crops are said to be “crops of the future”, yet very little is known about them in terms of research. Submit your research to the journal.
