AOSIS continues to expand its open-access journal offerings, catering to the growing demands for open-access scholarly research across various fields. In our AOSIS scholarly domain of Humanities and Social Sciences we have been expanding by the launch of the below open-access journals.
Article Processing Charges
Some of our recently launched journals have a sponsorship agreement for the purpose of funding the article processing charges (APCs) of qualifying manuscripts. Please consult each journal’s website for more information.
Benefits of open access
Open access in all fields offers notable benefits to both authors and readers, and AOSIS is excited to share these advantages:
- Copyright retention: Authors retain the copyright to their work, ensuring recognition of their contributions and allowing them the freedom to share their published research widely.
- Preprint sharing: Authors can share preprints, increasing the reach of their research and transparently demonstrating the evolution of their work.
- Increased visibility and impact: Open-access articles typically receive more readership and citations, boosting research impact globally.
- Rolling or continuous online publication: The process, from submission and peer review to production and finalisation, is streamlined, and accepted articles are published as soon as they are ready for publication, meaning that authors no longer have to wait for a full issue to be compiled before they get to see their work published.

Journal of Applied Neurosciences
Editor-in-Chief: Dirk J. Geldenhuys
With neuroscience and biology as the underpinning of all human behaviour, an increasing need developed for the translation of neuroscience research in other fields of study and practice. This journal serves as a vehicle for the scientific translation and application of neuroscience and other biological underpinnings of human behaviour, in the contexts of psychotherapy, psychology and clinical practice, business, education, spirituality and religion, and sport. Thus, it allows for transdisciplinary integration of enhancing the understanding of human behaviour in different contexts. Submit your research to the journal.
No APCs on qualifying works in 2024. Ts & Cs apply.
Editor-in-Chief: Reina-Marie Loader
The Journal of Media and Rights (JMR) provides an innovative platform for the presentation of original research linking media scholarship with rights-based scholarship. A core element of JMR is the exploration of rights (human or otherwise) via the close analysis of media texts such as films, television, radio, podcasts, and other forms of online media. It further examines rights-related concerns connected to the media industries, while also providing a platform for practice-based/practice-led researchers to discuss their rights-related practice. Submit your research to the journal.
