AOSIS is pleased to announce that our Managing Director, Dr Pierre de Villiers, has been appointed to the Editorial Board of the Learned Publishing journal, headed by Editor in Chief Pippa Smart and North American Editor Judy Luther.

Pierre de Villiers is medically trained and a Fellow of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. He has a doctorate in Community Health and was the founding professor and head of the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care at Stellenbosch University. He is the former Editor-in-Chief of the South African Family Practice journal, and the current Managing Editor of the African Journal of Primary Health Care and Family Medicine. He currently serves as Director of the South African Academy of Family Physicians.

Learned Publishing is the journal of the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers, and is published in collaboration with the Society for Scholarly Publishing.
