UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in 2023: A glimpse into AOSIS’s key initiatives and progress

We’re excited to share some significant strides we’ve made at AOSIS towards promoting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2023. As part of our ongoing commitment to contribute to these global aims, we’ve initiated several key actions in 2023 that underline our dedication and efforts to raise awareness and inspire action.

Highlighting Sustainable Development Goals in journal articles and the journals’ focus and scope

In 2023, we initiated an effort on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on article level and, in more and more cases, the focus-and-scope level of some of our journals, specifying which SDGs articles and journals contribute to achieving. By highlighting the SDGs in each article and journal focus and scope, we aim to promote awareness and action towards these global goals. We plan on rolling out this initiative across all our journals moving forward.

AOSIS Scholarly Books’ issued a call for proposals that align with UNESCO’s Sustainable Development Goals 7 and 9

In 2023, AOSIS Scholarly Books released a call for book proposals addressing the global energy crisis. The invitation was extended to established and emerging scholars and researchers to submit proposals aligning with UNESCO’s Sustainable Development Goals 7 and 9. We are elated to share that several of these considered book proposals gained fruition on our 2024 frontlist.

We are constantly reminded of the importance of collective action and shared responsibility for a sustainable future.
