The OAPEN Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation based in the Netherlands, with its registered office at the National Library in The Hague. OAPEN works with publishers to build a quality-controlled collection of peer-reviewed open access books. They provide services for publishers, libraries, and research funders in the areas of dissemination, quality assurance, and digital preservation.
Their mission is to improve the discoverability of open access books while building trust in open access book publishing. Learn more about OAPEN.
The OAPEN funders support immediate open access to books and book chapters resulting from research grants. Their funding enables researchers to pay for book processing charges levied by publishers to publish their work in open access.
