African Evaluation Journal: Invitation for submissions
African Evaluation Journal: Invitation for submissions
The Editors of the African Evaluation Journal invite authors to submit their research towards the General Issue 2023 – The African Evaluation Principles…explored
The African Evaluation Journal (published by AOSIS) publishes high quality peer-reviewed articles of merit on any subject related to evaluation, and encompasses the following aims:
- To build a high quality, useful body of evaluation knowledge for development.
- To develop a culture of peer-reviewed publication in African evaluation.
- To stimulate Africa-oriented knowledge networks and collaborative efforts.
- To strengthen the African voice in evaluation.
This issue encourages the exploration of the African Evaluation Principles (AEPs).
- The evaluation empowers Africans
- The evaluation is technically robust
- The evaluation is ethically sound
- The evaluation is rooted in Africa, yet draws from across the world
- The evaluation shows the connectedness of the world
- The AEPs reflect the demand for evaluation that is ‘Made in Africa’ – rooted in and tailored for African contexts, needs and knowledge systems, yet informed by international insights, theories and good practices.
- The AEPs are intended to cultivate a common understanding and consistent application of the features of high-quality evaluations that are valuable in Africa and fit for the opportunities and challenges of the Anthropocene era.
- The AEPs want to confirm the value of evaluation as an important practice that can help protect and advance African societies in unity with the natural ecosystems on which all life depends.
- The AEPs promote deep engagement with efforts to decolonize evaluation theory and practices and the exploration of indigenous ways of thinking and doing.
