The Moodle Educator Certification Program (MEC), only provided by Certified Moodle Partners, recognises, and certifies mastery in building effective teaching and learning activities with Moodle.

2022 Intake Dates: The first week of every month.
Teaching approach: Design, Guide, Connect, and Reflect. These four teaching approaches use the Relational Model for Teaching and Learning© (RMTL).

Basic Requirements:

An understanding of basic course setup
More than 6 months of experience in using Moodle
Prior experience with Moodle 3.3 and above

The MEC is available through Moodle Partners who have been trained and certified by Moodle HQ to facilitate the modules.

Who is the Moodle Educator Certification Program designed for?

Teachers, instructors, and trainers who use Moodle in their teaching practice can benefit from the program’s thoughtfully-designed learning modules. Educators who are new to Moodle, as well as experienced Moodlers, can learn from a comprehensive set of Moodle learning activities and tool-based tutorials included in every module.

What is unique about the Moodle Educator Certification Program?

The Moodle Educator Certification curriculum extends the knowledge gained in our Moodle Training Courses by designing a research-based approach to improving teaching and learning practices with Moodle. Based on the Relational Model for Teaching and Learning, the European Union DigCompEdu framework, the UNESCO curriculum development framework, and Moodle’s own experience supporting a global community of over 140 million learners, we have created a unique program that integrates leading research on education-focused digital competencies into a hands-on, pragmatic learning experience.

Do I have to go through Basic Moodle Training before I can start the Moodle Educator Certification?

Previous experience using Moodle is recommended to maximise the gains from the Educator Certification program.
