SAFP Journal at 45: Reflecting on the Past, Shaping the Future
Reflecting on the past 45 years of the SAFP Journal is crucial for recognizing the progress and challenges in family medicine and primary health care. This reflection helps identify successful strategies and areas needing improvement. The value-add lies in guiding future research, policy-making, and clinical practices. By learning from past experiences, the journal can better address current health issues and anticipate future needs, ultimately enhancing the quality of care provided to communities.

We encourage authors to submit any of the following types of articles: Scientific Letters, Open Forums, Editorials, and Letters to the Editor that:
- Reflect on significant advancements and milestones in family medicine over the past 45 years.
- Address current challenges and innovations in primary health care.
- Propose future directions and strategies for improving family medicine practice and education.
- Highlight the role of family physicians in promoting health equity and addressing social determinants of health.
