Trends in Nursing (TIN) publishes contemporary, forward-looking contributions that analyse, synthesise, and interpret developments shaping the nursing profession. The journal prioritises evidence-informed perspectives that support strategic thinking, policy development, and system-level decision-making in nursing education, nursing practice, relevant research, professional regulation, workforce planning, and quality improvement.
While the journal’s primary focus is on integrative and interpretive scholarship, it welcomes contributions that extend understanding through critical reviews, policy analyses, reflective inquiries, and structured discussions of emerging issues. Manuscripts should contextualise contemporary developments, identify their implications, and advance scholarly dialogue on evolving trends in nursing practice, education, leadership, and scholarship.

The journal is peer-reviewed and has been published in print and online since 2012. It is an official publication of The Forum of University Nursing Deans of South Africa (FUNDISA).
