Announcing the appointment of a publisher for Trends in Nursing
The Forum of University Nursing Deans of South Africa (FUNDISA), title owner of Trends in Nursing (TIN), is pleased to announce that the journal will be officially published by AOSIS, an open-access scholarly publisher based in Cape Town, South Africa, as of 1 July 2026.
This means that the journal’s published record and its operation will be moving to a new platform, and this transfer to the new publisher will commence soon. There will thus be some changes in terms of how the journal looks and works, and the journal will receive a new domain, too. You will be able to access the journal’s new website here: trendsinnursing.org. The ISSN Centre will be informed of the appointment of the new publisher as well. Rest assured, however, that the journal will still employ a double-blind peer-review process, and that previously published works will be made available on the journal’s new website.
For new and returning authors more generally, the support team at AOSIS will guide you through any changes that might affect you, for example, changes to your login credentials and passwords. For authors and reviewers working on manuscripts that are currently in process – that is, manuscripts that are in review or that have been accepted –, you will be informed of any actions that you might need to take or that will be taken that affect your submitted manuscript or the manuscript you are working on once the new journal website is live.
In due course, a dedicated email address for author and reviewer queries will become available at AOSIS. Other major changes will also be posted if and when applicable. Please keep an eye on AOSIS’s and FUNDISA’s websites for more updates in the coming weeks; otherwise, you will be able to find the latest updates on the journal on its new website at trendsinnursing.org.

Trends in Nursing publishes contemporary and relevant research and evidence-based information on the nursing profession. The aim is to make information accessible to scholars, educators, clinical practitioners, nurse managers, and policy makers to advance planning and decision-making in nursing education, research, quality improvement initiatives, nursing regulation, and workforce planning. Articles should provide a description of current developments in nursing in Africa or across the globe.

AOSIS is an open-access publisher which means that all journal content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
